Join our dynamic dance company for an exciting new season! We are seeking talented and passionate dancers to join our team of creative minds.

 

Anderson Carvalho Dance & Choreography (ACDC) is looking for dancers with strong technical training, exceptional performance skills, a willingness to take risks and explore new movement styles, who thinks beyond boundaries, with a deep interest in working in an open and collaborative environment for our 4 months international Dance journey in Cape Town, South Africa. We welcome dancers of all backgrounds and identities to apply. This is an opportunity to work with us on a truly captivating production and experience a creative process where co-creation, creative freedom and movement research is our driven core.

Requirements:

 

- At least 2 years of professional dance experience

- Strong technical training in contemporary dance 

- Ability to work collaboratively with choreographers and fellow dancers

- 2 years a valid passport is a must

1. A CV – your resume including personal information, training/ performance experience and contact info (no longer than 2 A4 pages);

2.  A brief statement outlining your artistic vision and approach to dance;

3. A clear head shot;

4. A copy of your passport;

5. A video link (YouTube or Vimeo) with a solo/improvisation (maximum duration of the total video is 3 minutes).

 

Note: Selected candidates will be invited for a zoom meeting interview as the second part of the selection process.

 

Project Terms:

Project Period: Mid February to 30th June 2024.

​

Where: Rehearsal in Cape Town, South Africa.

​

***The residency will include accommodation for 4 Dancers coming from outside of South Africa, for the project period.

 

Rehearsal period: 3 days a week, 4 hours a day – Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

​

Note: Days off during Easter Holiday & Workers Day.

​

Performances: June 2024 in Cape Town and Johannesburg. August 2024 in the Netherlands (To be Confirmed)

Financial Compensation:

​

ZAR 15,000 + Discretionary Bonus at the end of the project.

 

All candidates must be available from the beginning of the season on the 1st of February.
