ACDC – OPEN CALL CHOREOGRAPHERS

 

ACDC Dance Intersect 2025 invites post- emerging choreographers from Cape Town and Johannesburg to apply for the 2025 edition of our dynamic contemporary dance event. We are looking for innovative voices ready to present new works that push boundaries and explore unique artistic perspectives. This is an opportunity to gain invaluable experience, collaborate with a vibrant community of artists, and showcase your talent to an engaged audience.

 

Application Requirements

 

- One-Page Project Proposal

- Length of the work: 10 minutes

- Description of the new work

- Details of physical and technical support required – if available

- Explanation of how this project will contribute to your growth as a choreographer

 

Project Terms

 

Performance Period in Cape Town: September 2025 – date to be announced

Performance Period in Johannesburg: November 2025 - date to be announced 

Two guest choreographers (one from Cape Town, one from Johannesburg) will each receive a budget of ZAR 30,000, that will need to cover the production of the commissioned works.

How to Apply

 

Video Excerpts of Previous or Recent Work: Submit excerpts from one or two contrasting performance work Upload the videos to YouTube, Vimeo, or a private webpage. Include the video links, and passwords if applicable, in your submission email.
